Tilottam Paudel Elected as Chairperson of the National Child Peace Zone Campaign

Kathmandu – Tilottam Paudel has been elected as the chairperson of the National Child Peace Zone Campaign. Paudel is the chairperson of Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal, a member organization of the campaign, and the founder of Jagriti Child Club Nepal.

The 23rd Foundation Day and the 9th General Assembly and Convention held in Kathmandu elected the new leadership under Paudel’s guidance. The convention selected Hemraj Joshi and Mamata Jha as vice-chairpersons, Raju Ghimire as general secretary, and Samjhana Kumari Malla as treasurer.

Elected members include Geeta Adhikari (Koshi), Sanjay Kumar Kushwaha (Madhesh), Shiba Prasad Khakurel (Bagmati), Keshab Prasad Paudel (Gandaki), Shibalal Pandey (Lumbini), Keshab Acharya (Karnali), Geetakumari Rawal (Sudurpashchim), Pinky Singh Rana (Open), Shanta Kumari Dahal (Open), and Kunjani Pariyar Pyasi (Open).

The campaign was established on Bhadra 3, 2060 BS (August 19, 2003) with the mission of protecting children from conflict, violence, and insecurity, ensuring schools and child-friendly peace zones, and advocating for children’s rights to life, protection, development, and participation.

The convention, attended by 98 member organizations from 50 districts across all seven provinces, elected the new leadership. The general assembly and convention, chaired by Mina Sharma and attended by Deputy Chairperson of the National Child Rights Council Bam Bahadur Baniya, campaign visionary Gauri Pradhan, former chairperson Madhab Pradhan, Dr. Krishna Subedi, Narendra Dangol, child representative Krishangi Aryal, and Save the Children’s Arjun Thapa, also resolved to expand the campaign structurally across all provinces, establish an independent high-level mechanism for children, increase investment in children, make children a national pride, end child marriage, eliminate child labor, and contribute to building a child-friendly nation.Czop-new-comeeti-(1)-1755678030.jpg
