Body of Section Officer Missing in Timure Flood Identified
The body of Yadav Bhandari, a Section Officer of the Government of Nepal who went missing after the devastating flood in the Timure area of Rasuwa, has been identified.
Bhandari, 37, was originally from Gulmi and was a resident of Susta Rural Municipality–1 in Nawalparasi. He was working as a Section Officer at the Immigration Office in Timure, Rasuwa. He had gone missing following the flood.
Bhandari’s body, which was found after being swept away by the flood, was brought to Pokhara. His elder brother, Chudamani Bhandari, who had reached Pokhara, identified the body. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrangat Baral, Chudamani confirmed that the body was that of Yadav Bhandari.
Following Bhandari’s death in the flood while he was on duty, his family, relatives, and colleagues are mourning his loss. His untimely death at the age of 37 has also caused grief among the civil service community.
The flood in the Timure area of Rasuwa has caused extensive loss of life and property. Search and rescue operations for those reported missing in the flood- and landslide-affected areas are still underway.
