Full Gas Cylinders Available Nationwide Starting Today
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Limited has resumed the distribution and sale of full 14.2 kg LP gas cylinders across the country starting today (Asar 31). The corporation stated that with the normalization of gas supply, arrangements have been made to provide full cylinders under the previous system.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, consumers can now purchase full 14.2 kg LP gas cylinders at the existing price of 2,060 rupees. Previously, following disruptions in gas imports from India, the corporation had been filling and selling only half-cylinders (7.1 kg) since March 12.
The corporation noted that the old system has been reinstated as imports have now eased and the market demand for full cylinders has increased. According to the NOC, both 7.1 kg half-cylinders and 14.2 kg full cylinders may co-exist in the market for some time during this transition.
Therefore, consumers are urged to carefully check the weight and price of the cylinder before making a purchase. Additionally, the corporation has requested consumers not to hoard gas at home beyond their immediate needs, emphasizing that everyone's cooperation is essential to maintain a smooth supply.
