‘Maijharo’ Teaser Released on Ghatsthapana, Director Takke Signals a Promising Film

Kathmandu: The teaser for the upcoming film Maijharo, set to release on Kartik 7, has been unveiled. The production team released the 1-minute 58-second teaser on Monday, coinciding with the festival of Ghatsthapana during Dashain.

The teaser showcases the triangular love story between the main actors Dhiraj Magar, Miruna Magar, and Diya Pun. Scenes from Ilam depict a rural setting, with Dhiraj Magar shown in village surroundings. Miruna Magar is seen carrying a basket while picking tea leaves, suggesting her role in the tea gardens. The teaser highlights the romance between Dhiraj and Miruna, but due to certain circumstances, Dhiraj is also shown getting close to Diya Pun.

Many viewers might have expected Takme Budha (Wilson Bikram Rai) to make a comedy-style film. However, contrary to assumptions that the teaser or the film would be comedic, the director has crafted an original love story. The teaser portrays emotional relationships in a Kirati cultural context, suggesting that Wilson Bikram Rai leaves a strong directorial impression with this film. His storytelling reflects the essence of Nepal’s soil, and his work appears impressive even in the teaser.

The triangular love story in Maijharo is based on a story written by the director himself. Alongside Dhiraj, Miruna, and Diya, the film features performances by Dayahang Rai, Buddhi Tamang, Sunil Thapa, Pushkar Gurung, Abhayaraj Baral, Mautse Gurung, Kavita Ale, Rajani Gurung, Prem Subba, Uday Subba, Anil Subba, Bhupendra Lingden, and Vishal Limbu, among others.

Produced under the banner of Takme Production, the film features music by Anmol Gurung and Torempahang Rai. The melodious voices of Rajesh Payal Rai, Jhuma Limbu, Melina Rai, and Asmita Adhikari can be heard in the soundtrack. Cinematography is by Saurabh Lama, distribution by RR Films, and digital rights have been acquired by OSR.
