Reason Behind the Title Change of Janai Haraeko Manche: Sambandhaka Dhagaharu
Kathmandu — The film Janai Haraeko Manche: Sambandhaka Dhagaharu was initially titled Janai Haraeko Bahun: Sambandhaka Dhagaharu. The makers changed “Bahun” to “Manche” after some Hindu organizations and individuals expressed unnecessary concern and pressure.
Director Himal Nyaupane clarified that the film is not religious but a social story, with the word “Janai” used only because it fit the theme. He said the team avoided unnecessary disputes by changing the title, though they could have kept the original. He also stressed that creators should have the right to work freely and urged the government to protect creative freedom.
The film, produced under the Paperclip banner, will release on Bhadra 6. It stars Bijay Baral, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Keki Adhikari, Miruna Magar, Gaurav Pahadi, and others, with music by Thaneshwar Gautam, Arjun Pokhrel, SD Yogi, and Prashant Siwakoti. Distribution is handled by Kafiya Films.
This marks Vijay Baral’s first lead role since the blockbuster Purnabahadurko Sarangi.
