‘Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung’ to Release on October 23
Kathmandu – The much-anticipated film “Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung”, which was earlier scheduled to release on Constitution Day (September 19), has announced a new release date.
Director Upendra Subba stated that the release had to be postponed due to insufficient time for promotion following the Gen Z movement.
On Tuesday, the production team unveiled two new posters and announced that the film will now hit theaters on October 23 (Kartik 6), coinciding with Bhai Tika.
Written and directed by poet Upendra Subba, the posters hint at a storyline that revolves around the Limbu community and its culture.
The first poster features Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar in traditional Limbu attire, smiling joyfully, while the second poster includes Buddhi Tamang and Bijay Baral alongside them.
Produced under the banners of Bansuri Films and Kabaddi Films, the film’s producers include Ram Babu Gurung, Madhu Mijar, and Jiban Gurung. The cast features Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, Bijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Manhang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ningliekhu.
Subba’s directorial debut “Jaari” became a blockbuster in 2023, grossing over NPR 170 million at the Nepali box office. Following that massive success, “Jaari 2” has been listed among the most awaited Nepali films.
