NRNA South Korea Launches Help Desk for Nepali Workers and Students

Seoul – The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) South Korea has launched a help desk to support Nepali workers and students. The inauguration took place both physically and virtually on Sunday, with Nepal’s Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Sarat Singh Bhandari, officiating online.
Minister Bhandari praised NRNA South Korea for initiating government-related work and emphasized that the Nepalese government is always ready to assist Nepalese abroad. He also announced a pilot project in Gulf countries to resolve issues through AI via the ‘Shram Sansar’ app, developed in collaboration with NRNA leadership.
NRNA President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha highlighted that the initiative marks the real start of NRNA’s work in South Korea and assured full support from NRNA ICC. He added that the Shram Sansar portal will be utilized widely with the cooperation of the Ministries of Labor and Foreign Affairs, with results visible soon.
The event, chaired by NRNA South Korea NCC President Bipin Kumar Gurung, was attended by former committee members, community leaders, political representatives, journalists, students, and workers.
The help desk will address language barriers, legal issues, health concerns, workplace discrimination, visa, study, and career-related guidance. It has already received over two dozen queries, with several issues resolved.
Senior Vice President Jit Kunwar and General Secretary Ajay Sodari delivered the welcome remarks.
