Debut Director Ekta Paudel’s Movie ‘Harsha’ Unveils First Look Posters

Kathmandu – The first look posters of debut director Ekta Paudel’s film Harsha have been officially released. Two posters were unveiled on Monday morning, ahead of the film’s release scheduled for Mangsir 12.

Both posters prominently feature the film’s main cast. In one poster, actors Khagendra Lamichhane, actress Barsha Raut, and Sharmila Malla are seen with joyous expressions, reflecting the film’s title, while Santosh Panta appears with a slightly displeased expression, adding a contrasting nuance. Young actor Simon Wadi, playing the role of their son, is shown enjoying moments with Khagendra and Barsha.

The second poster continues to portray Khagendra and Barsha with sweet smiles. In the background, there is a possible song sequence where Santosh Panta is accompanied by actors Bishal Pahadi, Luniva Tuladhar, Maotse Gurung, and Anshu Maharjan, dancing and celebrating. Simon appears dressed as Bal Krishna, and actor Neer Shah is seen in a serious expression. Together, the two posters suggest a storyline exploring the ups and downs of family life, marking a long-awaited family drama for the audience.

Ekta Paudel is following in the footsteps of her late uncle, director Shiva Regmi, who was known for family-centric films. Paudel had previously released a title video in memory of her uncle.

Director Paudel studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy and holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication. She also has a postgraduate degree in management and leadership and has previously produced several short films. The movie was entirely shot in Chitwan and is currently in post-production. Paudel promises that she and her team will present Harsha in its best form to the audience.

The film stars Khagendra Lamichhane, Barsha Raut, Neer Shah, Santosh Panta, Sharmila Malla, Maotse Gurung, Bishal Pahadi, Nima Pandey, Luniva Tuladhar, Anshu Maharjan, Renu Pradhan, Subarna Thapa, Shrishti Maharjan, Sangeeta Napit, and young actor Simon Wadi.

Produced under the banners of Ashtalakshmi Productions and E-Prime Movies, the story is written by director Paudel herself. Cinematography is by Alok Shukla, music by Sameer/Himal, Basanta Sapkota, and Elish Karki, editing by Lokesh Bajracharya, with choreography by Sunil Kshetri and Ekta Paudel.

Producers include Prashanna Paudel and Bikash Paudel, with executive producer Hikmat Chokhal. Other team members are the late Shiva Regmi, Dr. Krishnahari Baral, Pavitra Ghimire, Neer Kamal Khadka (lyrics), Ishwar Ghimire (production manager), and Kuldeep Adhikari (chief assistant director). The film is distributed by Govinda Shahi’s Kafiya Films, and digital rights have been acquired by Budhasubba Digital.HARSHA-MOVIE-POSTER-1-1756715105.jpg
