‘Harami’ Web Series Featuring Nischal Basnet Now on YouTube

Kathmandu: The web series ‘Harami’ has been released on YouTube. It is written and directed by Biswas Timsina, who is popular for reviewing Nepali films under the name ‘BT Kancha’. This five-part web series can be watched on the BT Kancha YouTube channel. Each episode is about 25 minutes long.

Every episode of ‘Harami’ features famous Nepali film stars as guest actors. Director Nischal Basnet, actor Ayushman DS Joshi, actress Anna Sharma, and Gaumaya Gurung appear in different parts of the series.

Director Timsina said the series was made to give young viewers something different. According to him, ‘Harami’ focuses on the lifestyle, thoughts, and relationships of the younger generation.

"We tried to surprise the audience by including famous actors in every episode," he said. "While web series are becoming popular worldwide, we have tried something new in Nepal."

The story of the series moves around the lives of three young men living in the same flat, showing different sides of love, career, and relationships. Each episode tries to raise a different topic. Director Timsina revealed that the idea for ‘Harami’ came from the life of one of the characters, Nikun Shrestha.

He said the idea started when he came to Nepal from Kalimpong and stayed at Nikun's house. Since Nikun's parents were in America, he lived alone and enjoyed a free life with friends. "The concept of living in a flat came from Nikun's life. The characters Hari and Milan reflect the lives of my friends in India," he explained.

Nikun Shrestha, who is with Man Production, is also the executive producer of the series. Saphal KC is the producer and Pratik Gurung is the creative producer. Both are the writers and directors of the film ‘Hari’. The regular actors in the series are Nikun Shrestha, Rishikesh Bashyal, Shashank Bohra, and Rakshya Thapa.
