Nepal and Bhutan Must Strengthen Cooperation on Climate Change

Kathmandu. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay.

During the meeting held in New York on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, various aspects of the harmonious bilateral relations between Nepal and Bhutan were discussed.

Both leaders exchanged views on further strengthening relations between the two countries. Additionally, they discussed the increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters caused by climate change.

As both Nepal and Bhutan are mountainous nations, both sides emphasized the need to further reinforce cooperation on climate change issues.
