Policy Reform Needed for Women-Friendly Workplaces: Dr. Sangroula
Kathmandu – Central member of the Nepali Congress, Dr. Dila Sangroula Pant, highlighted that despite increased participation of women in workplaces, they still face high stress, depression, fatigue, and sexual harassment. She noted that gender discrimination, low representation in decision-making, and societal biases make these challenges more complex.
Sangroula emphasized the need for flexible working hours, maternity leave, telework, confidential counseling services, peer support groups, and training to improve women’s mental health. She stated that solutions are possible only through joint efforts of the government, private sector, media, and social organizations, and that women-friendly, safe, and inclusive workplaces enhance overall organizational productivity.
