Chhiring Sherpa Included in Nepal’s “Distinguished Women” List

Kathmandu, 19 August — The Cultural Museum Nepal has launched a photo exhibition titled “Nepal’s Distinguished Women” under the theme “Celebrate and Respect Women’s Power.” The exhibition, showcasing women’s contributions across various fields, is being held at the Nepal Art Council in Babarmahal and will run until August 21.

This year, mountaineer and artist Chhiring Sherpa has been included in the list of distinguished women. She is being honored not only for summiting Mount Everest but also for performing the world’s highest choreographed duet dance on the mountain, earning her a place in the Guinness World Records as the first female artist to achieve this feat.

Beyond mountaineering, Chhiring Sherpa is active in Nepal’s film and entertainment industry, having acted in movies and performed in over 100 music videos. Her achievements have made her a respected and inspirational figure in both cultural and entertainment spheres.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakashman Singh, praised her courage, artistic talent, and dedication, extending his congratulations. The event was also attended by prominent personalities including singer Yogeshwar Amatya and Nepal’s first actress Bhuwan Chand.

The Cultural Museum Nepal stated that the exhibition aims to honor women’s historical contributions, inspire the younger generation, and promote positive social messages.
