‘Citamol’ Trailer Released: Comedy and Satire with a Social Message

Kathmandu – The trailer for the upcoming Nepali film ‘Citamol’, set to release nationwide on the occasion of Janai Purnima (Shrawan 23), has officially been made public. The 3-minute and 20-second-long trailer, released on Wednesday, has generated increasing curiosity among viewers.

The trailer humorously portrays the poverty, unemployment, government negligence, and family disputes that are prevalent in Nepali society. The standout performances by Saugat Malla and Benisha Hamal, sharp dialogues, and strong social themes make the trailer especially appealing.

Set in a rural setting, the film highlights the struggles of ordinary people trying to solve even the simplest problems. The witty dialogues, biting satire, and seemingly simple yet powerful narratives give the trailer an impactful tone. Directed by Raj Bahadur Sane, the film aims to deliver meaningful social commentary through humor.

In addition to Saugat and Benisha, the film features a talented cast including Shree Krishna Niraula, Januka Bishwakarma, Bhugol Karki, Hiunwala Gautam, Sushil Pokhrel, Dinesh Regmi, R.R. Khadka, Gyanu Malla, Pawan Bhattarai, Kajal Bhujel, and child actors Karan Nepali and Aradhya Rajyalaxmi DC. Both Shree Krishna and Januka are making their debut in Nepali cinema through ‘Citamol’.

The film’s story, co-written by Pradeep Bhardwaj and director Sane, is produced by Tulsi Devi Film Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Juntara Films. Presented by Simos Sunuwar, the film lists Bhugol Kumar Karki and Bikash Raj Joshi as producers, Apsara Nepali, Ajay Malla, and Kumar KC as executive producers, and Gangaram Shrestha as co-producer.

‘Citamol’ also boasts a strong technical crew with music by Babul Giri, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj, editing by Bande Prasad, color grading by Rajendra Moktan, sound design by Mukesh Shah, action direction by Dev and Shankar Maharjan, poster design by Rakesh Dahal, and cinematography by Divya Subedi.

With its satirical approach to social injustice and systemic corruption, ‘Citamol’ promises not just laughter but also reflection—clearly hinted at through its impactful trailer.
