AI Chatbot and Call Center to Soon Launch at Nepali Embassies in UAE, Initiated by NRN

Kathmandu — In response to complaints about calls not being answered and the unavailability of timely information at Nepali embassies abroad, the AI chatbot and call center system developed to address these issues is now in its final stages. Through the initiative of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), this service is planned to be launched as a pilot project from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) within a few weeks.

Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, President of the NRNA, informed that the integration of the AI chatbot and call center system into the ‘Shram Sansar’ app is in its final phase, following an agreement between the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the NRNA.

The NRNA technical team presented a demo of the system to Minister Sharad Singh Bhandari and the ministry’s technical team. According to Thakur Prasad Dhungana, Treasurer of the NRNA, during the discussion with Minister Bhandari, it was agreed to start this system as a pilot project from the UAE and gradually expand it to other countries.

Once integrated into the ‘Shram Sansar’ app, the AI chatbot and call center system is expected to solve the problem of unanswered calls at embassies. Through this digital system, Nepalese abroad will be able to access telemedicine, health education, counseling, and solutions to various problems, said NRNA President Shrestha. He also noted that it will ease work despite manpower shortages, with the associated costs borne by the NRNA.

On this occasion, Minister Bhandari emphasized that serving Nepalis worldwide is the responsibility of the Government of Nepal, expressing his commitment to launch the service publicly soon. He also clarified that he will coordinate with all embassies through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for system integration.
