Siraha. An agreement has been reached between the government and the family of 15-year-old Ganesh Yadav—a resident of Aurahi Rural Municipality-2, Tulsiyahi—who was killed by gunshot during demonstrations in Golbazar, Siraha, over the Sunsari incident.

According to the agreement signed on Friday between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the deceased’s parents, the government has committed to immediately initiating the process to declare Ganesh Yadav a martyr and providing NPR 1 million in relief to his family.

The agreement specifies that an impartial and effective investigation into the July 29 (Sawan 13) incident in the Golbazar area will be conducted, and legal action against the guilty will be initiated immediately in accordance with existing laws. Furthermore, the government will provide employment opportunities to one eligible family member of the deceased, implement the recommendations of the formed investigation committee according to the law, and construct a memorial park in an appropriate location within the rural municipality in coordination with the local government.

As per the agreement, the funeral of the late Ganesh Yadav will take place today, July 31 (15th of Sawan), at 10:00 AM. Additionally, the Nepalese government has pledged to arrange free education for the deceased’s mother and sister, as well as free medical treatment for his parents in government hospitals.

The agreement document was signed by the deceased’s father, Ram Briksha Yadav, and Home Minister Sudan Gurung.
