Chairman Yadav States Madhesh Uprising Ensured Rights for Oppressed Communities

Rajbiraj: Upendra Yadav, Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, has stated that the Madhesh Uprising ensured reservations for marginalized communities including Madhesis, women, Dalits, indigenous groups, Janajatis, Tharus, Muslims, backward classes, and minorities.

Addressing an electoral discussion and meeting held on Saturday in Muharniya village, Ward No. 3 of Bishnupur Rural Municipality, Yadav—who is also a candidate for the House of Representatives from Saptari Constituency No. 3—discussed the Madhesh movement and its achievements. He remarked, "Had the Madhesh movement not occurred, the guarantee of reservations for the country’s exploited and oppressed castes and communities would not have been possible."

Recalling that rights and opportunities were secured through the sacrifices made by the sons of Madhesh during the struggles of the former Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum and the current Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Chairman Yadav noted that further struggle is still necessary for remaining rights.

He stated that JSP is the party fighting for rights, identity, self-respect, and representation, and that only by strengthening it can the rights of exploited castes, classes, and marginalized communities be ensured.

Emphasizing that development is necessary alongside rights, representation, and justice, and that one must be educationally strong to exercise those rights, Chairman Yadav said, "Access to quality education, health, employment, and social justice for all, along with agricultural development and the establishment of industries, is essential."

Chairman Yadav further mentioned that the achievements gained through the people's sacrifices are being attacked, and the general public must remain vigilant to stabilize and strengthen the federal democratic republic.

Stressing that exploited and oppressed people should stand in favor of JSP Nepal, he said, "Only if JSP Nepal is strong will the federal democratic republic be strengthened, and the country will move forward on the path of rights, representation, development, and prosperity."

During the program, JSP Nepal leader and former minister Renu Kumari Yadav, Central Secretary Shailendra Prasad Sah, and proportional representation candidates Chulhai Mandal, Manati Sada, and Swastika Chaudhary also delivered remarks.

On Saturday, Chairman Yadav and other leaders addressed similar electoral discussions and meetings held in Jamuni, Andipatti, Belha, Katti, and Ranjitpur of Bishnupur Rural Municipality.
