Film ‘Viral Gorkhe’ Takes a Satirical Look at Social Media Fame

The trailer for the upcoming movie "Viral Gorkhe," which is set to release on January 15, has been officially launched. During an event held in the capital on Wednesday, the nearly four-minute trailer provided a glimpse into the film's storyline.

The movie follows the struggles and strange antics of the main character, Gorkhe, played by Saugat Malla, in his quest to become famous on social media. In this film, Saugat is paired with actress Shristi Shrestha. The engaging and touching trailer is expected to build excitement among the audience.

Saugat plays a character who dreams of becoming a famous action star like Shiva Shrestha. To gain views on TikTok, he takes risks and does unusual things that eventually make him popular. 

However, the story focuses on how the character navigates the conflict between his online persona and the realities of his actual life. The movie aims to question and satirize the growing trend in Nepali society of doing anything to go viral on social media.

Nigam Shrestha, who previously directed films like "Chhadke" and "Lalpurja," is the director of "Viral Gorkhe." He believes this film fully showcases his directing skills and fulfills his desire to give the audience a beautiful cinematic experience. Shrestha is confident that people will enjoy the movie because it deals with a modern topic found in almost every household.

Produced under the banners of AK Brother Company, The GMI Academy, and Nirvana Film School, the movie features a cast including Buddhi Tamang, Laxmi Giri, Rajaram Paudel, Rishi Dhamala, Rabi Bhujel, and Miss Pabi alongside the lead pair.

Amit Shrestha, Bishal Tamrakar, Mahesh Lamichhane, and Kebal Jung Kunwar are the producers of the film, while Nirvana Film School, Bhuwan Adhikari, and Nikhil Paudel serve as co-producers. 

The cinematography was done by Amar Maharjan, and the movie was filmed in Bhujung village of Lamjung, Gorkha, and Chitwan. 

The distribution is handled by Sunil Manandhar, with action direction by Shree Shrestha and editing by Bande Prasad, Rabi Chaudhary, and Bhim Bishwakarma.
