Daughter-in-Law Arrested on Charges of Murdering Father-in-Law

Surkhet: A daughter-in-law has been arrested in Jajarkot on charges of murdering her 75-year-old father-in-law.

Gangaram Shahi, 75, of Paanga in Junichande Rural Municipality-5, was found dead near the stairs of his house on the night of July 27 (Saun 11) at around 8:00 PM, with sharp weapon wounds to his neck. Police also recovered a sharp khurpa (curved sickle) from the crime scene.

According to the police, the deceased's second daughter-in-law, Sharmila Shahi, was arrested after investigations revealed her involvement in the murder.

Inspector and Information Officer Sudhir Kumar Khadka informed that the arrested Sharmila has been presented before the court, and further investigation is underway.
