UML Intensifies Door-to-Door Campaign in Rupandehi as Election Day Approaches

Butwal. The CPN-UML has intensified its door-to-door and meeting programs in Rupandehi for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5. UML Vice-Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel, who set out for these meetings, was welcomed with garlands and blessings by people ranging from the Gen Z youth to the older generation.

Under the door-to-door campaign on Thursday morning in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 9, Gen Z youth welcomed Paudel with flower garlands, while senior citizens approached him with hugs and blessings.

Candidate Paudel himself was left speechless when tears welled up in the eyes of the elderly as they blessed him. Similarly, in the crowds waiting for Paudel with tika, garlands, and khadas at dozens of locations along Kalika Path in Butwal-9, there was significant participation from Gen Z youth.

Hundreds of UML cadres and well-wishers took to the streets on Thursday during the door-to-door program organized under the leadership of UML Rupandehi Deputy Secretary Baburam Panthi. To welcome candidate Paudel, voters emerged from almost every house, showing enthusiastic participation.

Addressing a short corner meeting organized during the campaign, UML Vice-Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel committed to developing the necessary physical infrastructure to transform Butwal’s Kalika Path into a night market.

"Butwal’s Kalika Path must be developed as a bright city where day and night feel the same. For that, the installation of necessary street lights, security arrangements, and all required facilities will be managed," Paudel said. He added that plans would be moved forward to make Butwal a model tourist city.

Furthermore, Paudel stated that necessary plans for the development of Butwal and overall Rupandehi are underway and urged voters to provide suggestions or written feedback if anything remains to be done from his side.

He mentioned that for the development of Butwal, the Tinau River would be managed and developed for tourism. "Work on constructing check walls to stop erosion by the Tinau River is ongoing. Now, development work will proceed to establish a standard that this river is a blessing, not a curse," Paudel said. As the election date approaches, leaders claim that the attraction of voters toward the UML is increasing.

Raju Gurung, co-coordinator of the Election Mobilization Committee and coordinator of the Youth Mobilization Committee for UML Rupandehi Constituency No. 2, claimed that victory is certain. He asserted that the public’s support and enthusiasm signal this outcome.
