UML and Congress Align on House Reinstatement
The Nepali Congress has decided to stand alongside the UML regarding the issue of reinstating the House of Representatives.
Following the despair of losing his Prime Ministership—having to flee to save his life following the Gen Z movement—Chairman Deuba has joined hands with Oli, placing both leaders in the same camp to advocate for the restoration of Parliament.
Both parties have reached a consensus that the dissolution of the House of Representatives and the appointment of Sushila Karki as Prime Minister were unconstitutional.
The Congress is preparing to file a supplementary petition in the Supreme Court, bolstered by additional signatures from its Members of Parliament.
Meanwhile, the UML has already submitted a writ petition backed by the institutional decision and signatures of 75 MPs.
Following an initial hearing on the UML’s petition, the Supreme Court has demanded written responses from the defendants, including the President and the Prime Minister.
