Ujyaalo Nepal Party’s Commitment Paper
Kathmandu. The Ujyaalo Nepal Party has set a goal to generate $10 billion in annual revenue by developing tourism as a destination for religion, spirituality, health, education, and medical treatment, as well as a capital for adventure sports to attract more tourists.
Additionally, the party has committed to making the regulatory system efficient for promoting agricultural production and expanding exports, while strengthening farmer-friendly markets and price guarantees.
Unveiling its commitment paper on Sunday, the Ujyaalo Nepal Party set a target to increase foreign tourist arrivals to 2 million by 2030 and 5 million by 2035. To achieve this, it mentioned that new areas of comparative advantage, such as tourism infrastructure, information technology, the creation of artistic goods, and the expansion of aviation services, will be identified.
The plan proposes developing Nepal as a center for religious and spiritual tourism, health education, medical services, and adventure sports for observing world heritage sites while promoting the unique identity of natural and Himalayan regions.
Similarly, the regulatory system will be strengthened to promote agricultural production and increase exports, with a target of earning $10 billion in annual revenue from exports as tourism attraction grows.
Path to Tourism Prosperity
Nepal Tourism Decade (2026–2035): Religious, cultural, adventure, and eco-tourism will be promoted with the goal of bringing in 3.5 million tourists annually by 2035. Nepal will be established as a tourism hub by branding it in the international market as a tourism destination for 365 days a year.
Improvement of Tourism Infrastructure and Connectivity: Ten major airports will be developed as boutique airports in collaboration with domestic and foreign airlines. While adding new flight destinations, trekking routes, roads, cable cars, and homestays will be made safe and attractive destinations.
Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism Fund: A ‘Tourism Prosperity Fund’ of Rs. 5 billion will be established from the revenue generated from tourism to provide grants to rural women tourism entrepreneurs for environmental protection.
