'Udhauli and Ubhauli Sakela' Released in the Voices of Singers Menuka Rai and Rai Nabin
Kathmandu. A new song titled ‘Udhauli and Ubhauli Sakela,’ featuring the joint voices of singer Menuka Rai and singer Rai Nabin, has been released. With lyrics by songwriter Chandra Jayapal Rai and music composed by Rai Nabin, the song artistically presents the original culture and traditions of the Kirat community.
The theme of the song is connected to the Kirat community’s significant festivals, ‘Udhauli and Ubhauli.’ The song depicts the cultural significance of Udhauli and Ubhauli, which the Kirat community celebrates by expressing faith toward nature, the land, and ancestors.
Before the start of new farming, prayers are offered to nature and deities for prosperity. The song expresses the special importance of the Sakela dance, original traditional attire, and traditional musical instruments during these festivals.
The song was arranged, mixed, and mastered by Raju Karki. Recorded at ‘Studio King,’ the recording was handled by Suresh Payal Rai, while Bina Rai is the producer of the song.
The video released alongside the song vividly captures the cultural essence, group dance, and lifestyle of Udhauli-Ubhauli. The video was directed by Dhan Khaling and produced by Jaskelo Creation.
Musicians state that the combination of original culture, powerful lyrics, and melodious music has made the song special. Following its release, the song is expected to receive a positive response from listeners.
