Thriller Film ‘Saapit’ Premieres in Itahari, Receives Positive Response

Itahari, Koshi Province – The thriller film Saapit had its first premiere in Itahari on Saturday, organized at the Kirat Rai Yayokkha building. Produced by a local team and media from Koshi Province, the film explores a different narrative style compared to typical regional films, focusing on horror-thriller elements, according to writer and director Rupak Rai.

The premiere coincided with the celebration of Krishna Janmashtami. Chief guest Arun Kumar Pradhan, President of the Koshi Province Chapter of the Nepal Film Artists’ Association, attended along with several filmmakers from Dharan, Itahari, and surrounding areas. Audiences responded positively after viewing the film.

Rai also revealed that preparations are underway for the film’s international premiere. The trailer was released on Tuesday, featuring mostly new actors. The lead roles are played by Nepali actors of Indian origin, Sukchandra Thapa, Sanjana Tri Khatri, and Zion Tamang. Other notable actors include Uday Subba Kurungbang, Bijay Sanyak Subba, Hem Dilungcha Rai, Madan Rai, Dinesh Koirala, Milan Tamang, Surendra Bhujel, Suraj Bhujel, Iksa Gurung, Junu Budhathoki, and Kailash B.K.

Saapit was filmed at various locations, including Kerabari-5 Rajarani in Itahari and Khadwari in Sankhuwasabha. The film was produced by Sagar Limbu (Loken), with executive producer Uday Kumar Subba. Milan Tamang served as assistant director, while Prakash Subba and Debraj Sigdel handled cinematography. Editing and color grading were done by Heman Tamang, with post-production by Koshi Vision Pvt. Ltd.
