Sarita and Pravan's 'The Change' at Bogura International Film Festival 2026

The Nepali short film 'The Change' (Parivartan) has been selected from Nepal for the 6th edition of the 'Bogura International Film Festival 2026' (BIFS), scheduled to be held in Bogura city, Bangladesh, from June 6 to 10.

This Nepali short film 'The Change' (Parivartan) has been selected in the International section of the festival. It has been chosen for the 'International Open Door Group' category at the festival.

The short film 'The Change' (Parivartan) is directed by Dabbu Kshetri. Previously, this film was selected for the Gramin Film Festival. 

At the Gramin Film Festival, Dabbu Kshetri won the Best Director Award for 'The Change,' Pravan Bhusal won the Best Actor Award, and Sarita Bharati won the Actress Jury Award.

This short film focuses on the social evil of untouchability still prevalent in Nepali society, such as isolating women from the kitchen and water source during menstruation and prohibiting them from touching men. 

The film covers the problems created by such superstitions in society. This 21-minute short film was produced by Bilakshan Creation Pvt. Ltd.

The main cast includes actor Pravan Bhusal, actress and singer Sarita Bharati, Kamala Joshi, Madhav Raj Kharel, Sharmila Sharma, and Suraj Adhikari. 

The cinematography of the short film 'The Change' is done by Ramsharan Upreti, the editing by Birendra Bhat 'Bipin', and the background music by Om Sunar.
