Congress President Gagan Thapa’s Message on Martyr's Day

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has paid heartfelt tributes to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the rights of the Nepali people, freedom, and democracy on the occasion of Martyr's Day.

Issuing a message, Thapa stated that the Nepali people are able to breathe in an era of freedom today due to the contributions of brave martyrs who sacrificed during various movements and struggles in history, ranging from the People's Revolution of 2007 B.S to the ‘Gen Z’ uprising of 2082.

Expressing the view that Nepal can only be transformed into a peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation through a strong and robust democracy, he said it is the shared responsibility of the current and new generations to internalize the sacrifice, dedication, and ideals shown by the brave martyrs.

"Only through a strong and robust democracy can Nepal be transformed into a peaceful and prosperous nation. It is our duty and that of the new generation to move firmly toward prosperity by internalizing the path of sacrifice, dedication, and ideals shown by the brave martyrs," he wrote.

On the occasion of Martyr's Day, Thapa expressed high respect for the indomitable courage, determination, and ideals of the martyrs and pledged to fulfill their dreams and move firmly along the path they showed.

"Today, on the occasion of Martyr's Day, expressing high respect for their indomitable courage, resolve, and ideals, we vow to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs and walk the path shown by them," Thapa said.

Similarly, he mentioned the need for effective implementation and timely revision of the public rights enshrined in the Constitution of Nepal, which established a federal democratic republic and was drafted by the Constituent Assembly under the leadership of the Nepali Congress.

He expressed confidence that Martyr's Day would inspire everyone to achieve the goal of a "Prosperous Nepal, Honored Nepali" through the collective efforts of all Nepalis living at home and abroad.
