TEAM NEPAL Aiming Medals in 2025 FIRST Global Challenge: National Team to Compete Against 190 Countries

Kathmandu, Nepal – October 29, 2025 – The Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN) is proud to announce that Team Nepal will be participating in the 2025 FIRST Global Challenge (FGC), one of the world’s largest and most prestigious robotics competitions.

This event, often likened to an Olympic-style competition for robotics, will be held in Panama from October 29 to November 1, 2025.

Theme for the 2025 FGC “Eco Equilibrium”: The Challenge focuses on protecting biodiversity and restoring ecological balance.

Teams design robots to remove barriers that hinder healthy ecosystems, emphasizing global cooperation to preserve nature’s diversity. It highlights sustainability, innovation, and teamwork, showing how technology can help maintain harmony between human progress and the environment.

About FIRST Global: FIRST Global is a U.S.-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering innovation and leadership in science and technology among young people worldwide.

Its mission is to encourage global cooperation, address critical issues, and enhance the quality of life through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. FIRST Global also works to promote greater investment in STEM education and support for the next generation of innovators.

About Team Nepal: Under this new partnership with FIRST Global, RAN will assemble a talented national team consisting of five youths, all under 18 years of age.

These students, selected through a rigorous process, are drawn from high schools and schools across Nepal and possess significant expertise in robotics. Over the past months and the remaining 13 days, the team has been and will continue work intensively at RAN to design and build a competitive robot for the FGC.
