MP Giri Draws Government Attention to Susta Border Incident

Kathmandu. Bharat Giri, a Member of Parliament from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has drawn the government's attention by claiming that personnel from India's Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) entered Nepalese territory in the Susta area of West Nawalparasi.

Speaking at Monday's meeting of the House of Representatives, Giri expressed deep concern, stating that the country's geography and national pride are under constant assault. He alleged that on June 13, armed Indian SSB personnel entered Nepalese territory without permission in the Tharu Tol area of Susta Rural Municipality-5, located in West Nawalparasi.

According to Giri, there was no state presence or Nepalese security personnel on-site during the incident, forcing local farmers to step forward themselves. He claimed that the local residents courageously resisted and successfully turned back the Indian security forces.

He stated, "I stand here with a burning Nepalese heart, deeply pained by the repeated attacks on our country's geography and national pride. On June 13, armed personnel from the Indian Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) forcefully entered our sovereign soil without permission at Tharu Tol, Susta Rural Municipality-5, West Nawalparasi. The state was absent. Our security forces were not there; there were only simple, plow-wielding farmers. With their indomitable courage, they chased away those armed soldiers and proved that protecting the soil requires patriotism in the heart, not a cloth uniform. Deepest respect to all the brothers and sisters of Susta who stood as a shield on the country's border."

MP Giri praised the citizens of Susta for defending the nation's pride and land. Noting that the local residents living in the border area stood as a shield for the country's frontier, he expressed his highest regard for the brothers and sisters of Susta.

He also urged the government to take the issue of border security seriously and initiate the necessary measures.
