'Lead a Rebellion Against Leadership' : Sumana Shrestha Appeals to Youth in UML and Congress

KATHMANDU. Sumana Shrestha, former Minister of Education, has strongly criticized the push for Parliament reinstatement, arguing that the entire Nepali society is ready for a fresh mandate.

In a fiery Facebook post, Shrestha accused the leaders pushing for the revival of Parliament of being 'selfish' and 'drowned in lust for power.' She stated that the debate for reinstatement is 'against the spirit of the Youth Revolution of Bhadra 23.'

She dismissed doubts about the impartiality of elections held by a civilian government as merely a 'vile excuse used by cowardly criminal elements—murderers and the corrupt—who cannot face the public.

' Shrestha further asserted that the Nepali public clearly understands that those who claim to be democratic but fail to display democratic character are 'trying to run away from the practice of democracy.'

Expressing concern over escalating conflict, Shrestha warned that inciting fraternal organizations to derail a society moving toward a peaceful solution is nothing short of 'preparing for a counter-revolution.'

She made a direct appeal to the 'dedicated young friends' within the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress who love Nepal and its people to 'rebel, resist, and stand against their leadership' to prevent the situation from becoming complicated.

Concluding with a strong warning, she urged the Congress and the UML not to attempt to become 'the country's only common enemy,' reminding them that history is a witness and that the public is aware, vigilant, and ready to fight any conspiracy.
