Home Minister Sudhan Gurung Visits Pashupatinath Temple on Hanuman Jayanti

Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has visited the Pashupatinath Temple. On Thursday morning, he reached the Pashupatinath premises and performed a formal worship and visit. Along with the visit, he also conducted an overall observation of the temple area.

This is his first visit to Pashupatinath since being appointed as the Home Minister. It is reported that he reached the temple on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. This day is regarded as a special day from religious and cultural perspectives.

Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated as an extremely important festival for Hindus. It is believed that Lord Hanuman was born on this day. Hanuman is worshipped especially as a symbol of power, devotion, courage, and loyalty. Across the country, worship, hymns, and religious programs are organized in temples, and there is a tradition of devotees fasting since early morning and visiting temples for worship.

Today, there was a large crowd of devotees in the Pashupatinath area since early morning. Special security arrangements were made, and the temple premises appeared organized and disciplined. Due to the presence of Home Minister Gurung, security agencies appeared more active.

After the visit, it is said that Home Minister Gurung wished for peace, stability, and prosperity in the country. Additionally, he took information from the relevant authorities regarding the cleanliness and management of the temple area, as well as the facilities for pilgrims, and gave instructions for necessary improvements.

During this sequence, officials of the Pashupati Area Development Trust informed the Home Minister about the current state of the temple area, management challenges, and ongoing development and construction work. Gurung expressed his belief that the tourism sector would also be supported through the protection and promotion of religious sites.

Home Minister Gurung's visit to Pashupatinath today is taken as a step to give a positive message at the beginning of his tenure, along with religious faith and cultural respect. Furthermore, the visit performed on a holy day like Hanuman Jayanti is seen as even more special and meaningful.
