Sudan Gyawali Expresses Personal Ambition to Represent Rupandehi-2

Sudan Gyawali, a young entrepreneur and active political campaigner within the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has personally stepped forward as an aspiring candidate for Rupandehi Constituency No. 2. This move reflects his own political will and ambition, following a decade-long journey of struggle and contribution to the movement for alternative politics.

With professional roots in Butwal’s hospital, auto, and tourism sectors, Gyawali has established himself through years of social service and business leadership. His path to this decision comes after a long trajectory through Naya Shakti and Bibeksheel Sajha before joining the RSP. Notably, he played a key role in merging several organizational groups from his previous political affiliations into the RSP.

When questioned about his candidacy, Gyawali clarified that this is not a sudden or accidental decision, but rather a culmination of his personal dedication to building a new political force. He positions himself as a leader who understands the economic hardships of the youth and possesses the vision to bridge the gap between ideology and practical implementation.

While he has been active in the RSP since its inception, Gyawali has occasionally expressed his own dissatisfaction regarding internal district-level appointments. Recently, he chose not to accept a position on the Central Election Commission—a role with the status of a central member—citing his own concerns over organizational complications following recent appointments from the "Balen group" in the district.

His personal influence is bolstered by his deep ties to the Arghakhanchi community in Rupandehi, having served as the president of the Arghakhanchi Hansapur Samaj. This connection is strategically significant in areas like Sainamaina and Butwal, where Arghakhanchi natives have a strong presence.

While 12 individuals have shown interest in the seat, Gyawali’s personal push to run highlights his desire to personally take on the challenge of competing against veteran leaders like Bishnu Paudel of the CPN (UML) in a constituency where the RSP already enjoys significant public attraction.
