Special Meeting of Nepal Federal Socialist Party Concludes: Claims Leadership of Unified Madhesh Province, Calls for Struggle Against Corruption

Kathmandu.

Chairman of the Nepal Federal Socialist Party (NFSP) and former State Minister for Home Affairs, Mohammad Rizwan Ansari, has claimed that his party will take the leadership role in unifying the entire Madhesh region into a single province. Addressing a special meeting of the party’s central office bearers held on Thursday in Kathmandu, Chairman Ansari made the bold statement.

He directed all party leaders and cadres to move forward with serious commitment and determination to build an alternative political force, embracing the public aspiration of forming a “Single Madhesh Province.” He stated, “The Nepali people desire equality, freedom, social justice, good governance, and a prosperous Nepal. This is only possible through the achievement of socialism, establishment of a multinational state, and formation of empowered provinces.”

The meeting was conducted by party Deputy General Secretary Janak Karki, with Vice Chairperson and Provincial Assembly member as well as former Minister for Home, Law, and Communication Bimala Ansari attending as a special guest. The event saw significant participation from central office bearers and invited members.

The meeting engaged in serious discussions regarding the country’s current political situation, government functioning, the lives of ordinary citizens, and the party’s future roadmap. It passed the following five key resolutions:

Deep Concern Over Government’s Conduct:
The party expressed strong concern over widespread corruption, stating that even government ministers have been implicated, with public evidence surfacing. Citizens are not experiencing good governance, the administrative system lacks transparency and accountability, and issues like unemployment, economic disorder, irregularities, and inflation have placed people in crisis.

Demand for Constitutional Amendment & Public Struggle:
The public had hoped for equality and justice through constitutional amendments, but those hopes have turned into disappointment. The party strongly condemned the current state and called on all Nepalis to unite and struggle against “lootocracy, corruption, disorder, and inequality.”

Expansion of Public Awareness Campaign:
The meeting reviewed the ongoing public awareness campaign conducted by the Federal Republican Alliance and acknowledged enthusiastic public participation. The campaign has raised awareness against the deteriorating political situation, declining economy, bad governance, and divisive politics. The party resolved to expand this campaign effectively to all 77 districts, urging leaders and cadres to take active roles in their regions.

Unity and Cooperation with Progressive Forces:
The party decided to pursue unity, collaboration, and alliance formation with other progressive political forces representing oppressed communities that share similar ideologies and goals. A five-member dialogue committee has been formed under the leadership of Party General Secretary Ananta Rai for this purpose.

Attention to Madhesh Issues and Natural Disasters:
Expressing concern over drought and drinking water shortages affecting the people of the Terai-Madhesh region, the party demanded swift and effective government intervention. Additionally, in light of recent floods and landslides across the country, the party expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property and called for immediate relief, rescue operations, and the development of long-term policy solutions.

Organizational Expansion and Future Strategy
The party outlined its next strategy to expand its organization across all 77 districts, seven provinces, and local levels. It will intensify membership distribution and restructuring, reorganize sister organizations, departments, and agencies, and launch more extensive awareness campaigns.

This special meeting is being viewed as a significant political move by the Nepal Federal Socialist Party, signaling its intention to play a stronger role in the country’s future political landscape and provide a viable political alternative.nssp-meeting1-1753426717.jpg
