Trailer Released for the Movie ‘Shivansh: Chapter 1’

Kathmandu: The trailer for the movie ‘Shivansh: Chapter 1’ has been released. The film is set to premiere in theaters across the country on February 13 (Falgun) on the occasion of Mahashivaratri.

Produced under the banner of Anjan Cinema Production, the trailer highlights criminal activities carried out under the guise of Lord Shiva. It shows how certain individuals stay active in crime while appearing as holy men (Jogis).

The trailer clarifies that even if someone looks like a simple person who has given up worldly desires, their inner mindset and behavior can be cruel and terrifying. It suggests a story about a person involved in serious crimes like murder behind the mask of a monk.

The trailer interestingly presents Hindu mythology and modern-day mysteries. It touches upon the legend of ‘Samudra Manthan’ (churning of the ocean) and the story of the poison created during that process.

The strongest part of the trailer is actor Prabin Khatiwada's look and performance. In the opening scenes, he is shown as a monk desperate to achieve divine power or 'Siddhi.' With ash on his body, a trident in his hand, and madness in his eyes, he portrays a powerful anti-hero or mysterious character.

The trailer suggests the main story revolves around a mysterious divine stone and the power or destruction it could bring in the current era (Kalyug). The race to gain spiritual power and the resulting conflict seem to be the film's main attraction. A dialogue in the trailer, "This book can cause destruction," indicates a great danger surrounding the plot.

The trailer shows caves, chanting, and tantric rituals on one side, while featuring laptops, modern weapons, and police investigations on the other. This suggests the movie is not just a religious story but a conflict based on finding ancient powers in the modern world. Similarly, the roles of actors Tej Giri, Bikas Joshi, and Rusha Neupane add more mystery to the story.

Director Santhosh Kumar Atreya appears to have directed the film in a grand and unique style. Special attention has been given to cinematography, background music, and VFX. Another highlight is the voice and music of famous Indian singer Kailash Kher. The powerful background music and chanting in the trailer immerse the audience in a spiritual mood.

The film stars Prabin Khatiwada, Tej Giri, Bimala Limbu, and Rusha Neupane in lead roles, with supporting performances by Bikas Joshi, Pradip Kumar Chaudhary, Sabir Churaute, Uday Kumar Subba, and Tika Niraula.

The story is written by Anjan KC, with a screenplay by Barat Limbu. Anjan KC is the producer, while Shobha Bhandari and Anis KC Bogati are co-producers. Shambhu Thapa is the executive producer.

The movie features songs written by Biplav Pratik and Rajan Raj Siwakoti. The music is composed by Nhyeu Bajracharya and Rajan Raj Siwakoti, with vocals by Rajan Raj Siwakoti, Milan Newar, and Samikshya Adhikari.

Sharad Mahato is the Director of Photography, Banish Shah is the editor, Milan Shrestha is the action director, and Bikram Chauhan is the choreographer. Milan Manandhar is the production manager, and Pratik Chaudhary is the art director and production designer. Barat Limbu is the chief assistant director, and Sulakshyan Bharati served as the script doctor.

In the Nepali film industry, very few "spiritual action dramas" based on mythological themes are made. Therefore, ‘Shivansh: Chapter 1’ is expected to offer something new to the audience. Releasing on Mahashivaratri, it may serve as a special gift for devotees of Lord Shiva and movie lovers alike.
