Shiva Waterfall Structure Inaugurated at Sanskrit School in Pokhara

Pokhara –
A sacred waterfall structure symbolizing the divine flow from Lord Shiva's matted hair was inaugurated today at the premises of the Sanskrit Secondary School in Pokhara. The inauguration ceremony was led by Peethadheesh of Kedareswor Mahadev Mani Temple, Chidghan Chaitanya Ji Maharaj.
Constructed within a reservoir inside the school garden, the spiritual installation was developed with the internal resources of the school and support from the Kaski Division Forest Office, at a total cost of Rs. 592,000.
Speaking at the event, Chaitanya Ji Maharaj emphasized that only the religion practiced with a stable and content mind is meaningful. He remarked that religion binds people in unity and is not limited to rituals alone but can also be fulfilled through one’s duties and deeds. He further stated that simply visiting temples or donating large sums without inner peace and stability holds no spiritual value.
Highlighting the essence of religion and culture as the foundation of a nation, he urged parents to teach their children about religious values and cultural heritage. He also encouraged youths to serve their country rather than going abroad for opportunities.
The program was chaired by Bishnu Prasad Adhikari, Chairperson of the School Management Committee. On the occasion, Ramesh Paudel, President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Gandaki Province and Bureau Chief of Gorkhapatra Daily, was honored for his contribution to journalism, religious awareness, and the educational sector.
Other speakers at the event included School Principal Shreekrishna Sigdel and Prof. Dr. Jagganath Regmi, who discussed the importance of Sanskrit education, religion, and culture in the modern context.
Currently, the school offers education from nursery to grade 12 and has 260 students enrolled. Among them, 70 students are provided with free lodging and meals. To support the Gurukul-style education, a perpetual fund (Aakshaya Kosh) has been established, which has so far collected Rs. 6.5 million, according to Chairperson Adhikari.
Although a Sanskrit-based institution, the school also provides education in English, science, mathematics, and Vedic rituals, which has contributed to its growing popularity, stated Principal Sigdel.
