Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma Emphasizes Listening to Citizens
Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has stated that the primary necessity today is to listen to the voices of citizens with great seriousness. Speaking at a large election gathering and tea reception organized by the fraternal and well-wisher organizations of Nepali Congress Ramechhap on Thursday, he claimed that the Congress has played a significant role in many developmental works.
Comparing the current situation with the past, Sharma said, "You and I must listen to the citizens seriously. The Congress is connected to every developmental task in Ramechhap. Many of you came to the district headquarters or Kathmandu to attend college, but now your sons and daughters are able to study plus-two in their own villages. Nepali Congress is linked to that progress as well."
According to him, access to drinking water has increased in the villages. "The water problem has not been completely solved yet, and hardships regarding water remain, but some progress has been made compared to before," he stated.
Vice President Sharma also discussed improvements in the electricity and communication sectors. "Whether the Nepali Congress was in government or outside, developmental works in the country have taken place based on the policy foundations of the Congress," he said.
However, he admitted that mistakes were made by the party as well. "There are many things we could not do, and we made some mistakes, which is why citizens, voters, and the younger generation became dissatisfied with us," Sharma said.
He mentioned that because only governments changed repeatedly, citizens could not feel a sense of real change. He said, "When 30 governments are formed in 34 years, perhaps only the Prime Minister can feel that change has occurred, but the citizens could not feel that experience."
