69th Anniversary of Shanti Basic School

Pokhara. The 69th anniversary, parents' day, and prize distribution program of Shanti Basic School, located in Shishuwa, Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward No. 30, has been completed.

The program was held under the chairmanship of School Management Committee Chairman Gangaram Timilsina and the chief hospitality of Durga Prasad Subedi, Ward Chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward No. 30. 

Subedi stated that Shanti Basic School is the pride of Ward No. 30. Discussing the initiatives taken by the ward for the development of the education sector, he said that development in other areas is not possible without the development of education.

On that occasion, Subedi also inaugurated the entrance gate built by daughters Janaki Kayastha and Subhadra Kayastha in memory of the late Agnilal Kayastha, late Bishnumaya Kayastha, and late Ramesh Kayastha, who were residents of Pokhara-30. During the program, he also unveiled the newly constructed Saraswati temple and inaugurated the assembly hall and trust building.

School Principal Maniram Kadel presented the annual progress report and discussed the school's vision. Stating that the school plans to add transportation facilities in the future for the convenience of students, Kadel mentioned that focus is being given to technology-friendly teaching and learning.

In the program, Ward Member of Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward No. 30 Binod Prasad Lamichhane, Senior Education Officer of Pokhara Metropolitan City Badrinath Subedi, Chairman of Gandaki Province Hospital Rishiram Jamarkattel, Ward Member Uma Pariyar, and Vice-Chairman of Lekhnath Community Savings and Credit Cooperative Krishna Tiwari, among others, offered their best wishes.

During the event, Durga Datta Adhikari, a resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward No. 30 and advisor to the school, established an endowment fund of 55,555 rupees at the school.

Similarly, former endowment fund donor Bindu Kumari Bhandari added 20,000 rupees to her previous endowment fund of 50,000 rupees, making it a total of 70,000 rupees. Likewise, former teacher of the school Amrita Tiwari established an endowment fund of 10,005 rupees.

In the program, school teacher Bedamaya Paudel and school accountant Krishna Adhikari were honored with the "Shanti Basic School Honor Year 2082." Former teachers Bhagwati Sigdel, Samjhana Bastola Gautam, and Amrita Tiwari were also bid farewell and honored. Prizes from the Bindu Kumari Bhandari Endowment Fund and Tikaram Bastola Endowment Fund, as well as educational awards for the academic session 2081, were distributed.

To encourage the students, guests Rishiram Jamarkattel, SMC Chairman Gangaram Timilsina, Jit Prasad Dwa, teacher Krishna Adhikari, and Bishnu Nyupane Bhattarai honored students in various categories with cash prizes. Students Christina Paudel and Sujata Rai welcomed the attendees.

The program, where Parent-Teacher Association Chairman Jiban Dhakal gave the vote of thanks, was conducted by Assistant Principal of the school Bhuwani Prasad Subedi.
