Revolutionary Communist Party Calls for Strong Boycott, Warns of “Nepali Zelensky”

Kathmandu: The Revolutionary Communist Party has announced a strong boycott of the upcoming elections, claiming that both old and new political forces will end up as foreign puppets.

At a press conference held Wednesday by the party’s Kathmandu district committee, it was alleged that the so-called new political forces, if they win the elections, would create a “Nepali Zelensky” and turn Nepal into a “Ukraine.”

Party Politburo member Dinesh Sharma said that although the Gen Z movement was popular among the people, the government formed under its influence would inevitably return to the old path, leaving them no choice but to boycott the elections.

“Since the 2015 elections, billions from the national treasury have been spent, yet the same foreign-controlled figures get elected. Isn’t the rationale for this kind of parliamentary election now over?” Sharma questioned.

Sharma further added that the public has already lost hope in the old political parties, and judging by the direction of the new parties, even more dangerous “Zelensky-like” leaders are emerging. “If we don’t boycott such elections that create foreign puppets, what can we do?”

Kathmandu district secretary Kedar Khatiwada said that under the current system, elections cannot solve issues of national sovereignty, democracy, or people’s livelihoods, leaving boycott as the only option.

Highlighting that the upcoming parliamentary election would push the country into a deeper crisis, Khatiwada said, “The puppet government led by Sushila Karki is conspiring to make old and new brokers the contractors of power through the elections, strengthening imperialist dominance. Therefore, our party strongly boycotts this election.”

Central member Peshal Dahal accused the current government of being reactionary and representing brokered parliamentary interests rather than the people. “Without abolishing this anti-people system, we cannot safeguard national sovereignty, completely eliminate corruption, or ensure good governance,” Dahal said.
