Rastriya Prajatantra Party Alleges Election Code Violation by RSP

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha has accused the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) of violating the election code of conduct by ringing bells in a manner that causes noise pollution.

Issuing a statement, spokesperson Shrestha drew the attention of the Election Commission to the noise pollution caused by the RSP ringing bells everywhere. He also expressed objection to RSP activities such as climbing onto the statue of King Birendra and burning flags.

Shrestha's statement reads: "We draw the attention of the Election Commission to be serious about the compliance and enforcement of the election code of conduct. It is ironic that while the party with the bell symbol is violating the nationwide election code of conduct by ringing bells and causing noise pollution, the Commission is acting as if it neither sees nor hears it.

If a party with the khukuri symbol starts walking around brandishing khukuris like the party with the bell symbol is ringing bells, or if a party with the bulldozer symbol starts operating bulldozers in a way that blocks roads and highways, would that also be acceptable to the Election Commission?"

Spokesperson Shrestha further stated that the RSP must publicly apologize for its recent misconduct, including burning flags and climbing on statues.
