Ramkumari Jhankri Quits Madhav Nepal's Party, Returns to UML
Kathmandu: Ramkumari Jhankri, a founding leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has announced her return to her former party, the CPN (UML).
Jhankri, who had joined hands with Madhav Kumar Nepal to form the Unified Socialist, stated that her journey with the party has ended, citing the party's move toward disintegration.
During a press conference in Kathmandu today, Jhankri, once a close associate of Madhav Nepal, announced the split.
She mentioned that while forming the Unified Socialist after separating from the CPN (UML), she had felt the campaign would be "monumental," but that possibility has now vanished.
The decision comes after the Unified Socialist, led by Madhav Nepal, decided to unify with the CPN (Maoist Centre).
However, leaders including Ramkumari Jhankri and Kisan Shrestha had expressed their disagreement with the merger decision. Jhankri's move marks a significant shift in the political landscape and a blow to the Unified Socialist party.
