Kathmandu – A book launch event for the poetry collection ‘Flowers of God’ (original: ईश्वरका फूलहरू), written by poet and General Secretary of the International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) central committee, Raju Sitaula, was held on Friday in Anamnagar, Kathmandu. The program was organized by the Nepal chapter of INLS and chaired by its president, Rajendra KC.
The chief guest of the event, senior litterateur and journalist Dr. Nawaraj Lamsal, remarked that ‘Flowers of God’ brings a fresh sense of emotion and sensitivity to the depth of Nepali poetry. He said, “Sitaula’s poems deeply unravel thoughts and feelings, enriching the landscape of Nepali literature.”
Distinguished guest Professor Dr. Khagendra Luitel praised the use of symbolism and literary technique in the collection, saying it encourages introspective thought in readers. Another distinguished guest, Prof. Dr. Krishnahari Baral, highlighted the powerful combination of language and emotion in Sitaula’s poetry, stating, “Sitaula’s poems are a touch to the soul, leaving a lasting impact on the reader.”
Former INLS president and writer Radheshyam Lekali gave a critical review of the book, noting its subtle depiction of devotion, spirituality, and social realities.
The event was attended by authors and creators including writers Leela Luitel, Suman Barsha, among others. It was hosted by Ranjana Niraula, General Secretary of the Nepal Chapter of INLS.
Born in Nuwakot, Raju Sitaula has been actively involved in the promotion of the Nepali language and literature through INLS while residing in the United States for many years.
With a profound title reminiscent of Ishwar Ballabh’s ‘Flowers of Fire’ (original: आगोका फूलहरू), Sitaula’s ‘Flowers of God’ adds a new flavor to Nepali poetry.
