Nepal Adventure Academy Conducts International-Level Professional Trekking Guide Training

Nepal Adventure Academy has provided professional trekking guide training to trekking guides.
Aiming to enhance Nepal’s tourism sector and the capacity of guides working in this field, as well as to teach them how to attract tourists and manage groups in an international manner, Nepal Adventure Academy conducted the “Advanced Trekking Guide (Pro Level)” training from Asar 20 to Shrawan 20. A total of 32 trainees and trekking guides participated in the training.
The one-month training concluded on Tuesday at the Nepal Adventure Academy office in Chabahil under the chief guestship of former Energy Minister and Federal Parliament Member Suryaman Dong. Speaking at the closing program, former Energy Minister and MP Suryaman Dong urged all participants to contribute to the development of tourism in their own villages and communities with the knowledge they gained from this training, and extended his best wishes for their bright future.
Located in Chabahil, Kathmandu, Nepal Adventure Academy provided the month-long Advanced Trekking Guide (Pro Level) training targeting those working in the tourism sector and new guides. The training covered topics such as trip briefing, first aid, flora and fauna, rules and laws, religion, culture and history, map reading and modern apps, psychology, food safety, yoga and meditation, group leading, camp setup management, communication skills, storytelling, and more.
The training was coordinated by Som Kuskumaji, with Narayan Tamrakar serving as training in-charge. Trainers included Dr. Khulesh Thapa, Punya Prasad Parajuli, Gobinda Basyal, Samir Gurung, Lal Bahadur Jirel, Kartike Tiwari, Krishna Ghimire, Pushkar Raj Pant, Bimal Subedi, Laxman Paudel, Kamalraj Gosai, Saburaja Maharjan, Kamal Prajapati, Kumar Parajuli, and Anil Chataut, each providing instruction in their areas of expertise.
Trainees reported that they learned far more than they had expected, in a practical manner, and that the training had greatly helped them make their profession more dignified and professional. Participants included Umesh Ghale, Dev Gurung, Kusang Sherpa, Ang Dawa Tamang, Gokul Ghale, Harichandra Karki, Bal Kumar Rai, Shital Rai, Member Tamang, Ayush Rai, Dhruva Mahat, Sudip Tamang, Santosh Rai, Suresh Lopchan, Pradeep Rai, Durga Gurung, Dawa Sherpa, Dawa Wangju Sherpa, Upendra Nachhiring Rai, Konchok Sherpa, Eddy Kulung Rai, Sonam Lama, Jiten Rai, Dhan Bahadur Bohora, Saroj Karki, Ngima Lama Sherpa, Chhiring Dorje Gurung, Mani Gurung, Sukharaj Kulung, Pradip Kulung, and Vivichan Kulung, among others.
The closing program saw the participation of owners and representatives from trekking companies such as Mountain Eco Trek, Team Ram Adventure, Mount Magic Trek, Rad Global Adventure, GG Trek, Cross Adventure, Nepal Multi Adventure, Himalaya Lover Trek, and Nepal Info Trek. According to training coordinator Som Kusumamaji, the goal of Nepal Adventure Academy is to bring Nepal’s trekking guides to the international level. He stated that the training provided by the academy is of international standard, and that the second session will be conducted in a more effective and modern, practical-based manner.
