Pradip Paudel Urges Government to Release Karki Commission Report
Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradip Paudel has requested the government to make the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission's report public. Issuing a statement on social media, he said it is ironic that the government has kept the report secret for a long time after receiving it from the commission formed to investigate the events of Bhadra 23 and 24 during the Gen-Z movement, noting that this has raised suspicions.
The interim government has still not released the investigation report submitted by the commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, which was formed to probe the Gen-Z movement of Bhadra 23 and 24. This has given rise to various doubts and suspicions, he said.
He questioned what issues prevented the release of the Karki Commission's report and why it is not being made public, stating that this has raised a significant question.
"Now the interim government's term has ended; why is the government shunning its duty by not releasing the report even at the time of its departure?" he asked. "It is both the duty and responsibility of the government to make the report submitted by the commission public; keeping it secret like the reports of previous commissions is ironic."
General Secretary Paudel reminded that the Nepali Congress decided to demand the government release the report during yesterday's Central Working Committee meeting, and he urged the government to fulfill its responsibility before its departure.
The Nepali Congress has already demanded the release of the report through its Central Working Committee meeting. "I once again request this outgoing government to fulfill its responsibility by releasing the report as soon as possible," he stated.
