RSP is weak on the ground despite social media buzz: Prachanda
Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has claimed that his party will emerge as the country's leading force in the upcoming elections. Addressing a party training program in Kathmandu, he stated that surveys conducted by various international organizations have signaled that the NCP will become the first party.
During his address, Prachanda launched a sharp attack on the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). He asserted that despite the significant buzz surrounding RSP on social media, its actual influence on the electoral field is minimal. Labeling RSP as a party of "stunts" and "rumor-mongering," he claimed that their popularity has declined in the areas where they previously won.
According to Prachanda, in places like the Kathmandu Valley, the public has already witnessed the performance of RSP leaders, leading to a downward trend in their popular mandate. However, he noted that it remains easier for them to spread illusions in new areas where people have not yet had the chance to know them well. He instructed his cadres to counter the illusions spread by RSP with logical arguments.
As the elections approach, Prachanda directed party leaders and workers to work on a "war footing" for the next 23 days. He stated that now is not the time to bargain for positions or responsibilities, but rather the time to be deployed in the field to ensure a party victory.
Emphasizing that the future of the party and its leaders will only be secured if they achieve good results in the election, he urged everyone to focus on their respective constituencies. He made it clear that discussions regarding work division and other internal matters will only take place after the election.
