Pokhara — Pokhara Trade Mall & Housing Pvt. Ltd., located in Chipledhunga, has announced a ‘Grand Shopping Festival’ to mark its 13th anniversary. The festival will run from August 10 to August 20, offering discounts of up to 50% at participating businesses inside the mall.
Speaking at a press conference in Pokhara on Saturday, the company’s chairman, Minraj Kafle, said the event is aimed at providing relief to customers while supporting businesses. “At a time when people’s income levels are low, we launched this campaign so customers could feel some relief,” he said. “It will also help sustain the businesses operating inside the mall.”
During the 10-day festival, customers purchasing goods worth NPR 500 or more will be eligible for discounts, with some stores offering up to 50% off. Kafle added that special schemes will be introduced for upcoming festivals like Dashain and Tihar.
Since its inception, the mall has marked its anniversary on August 9 each year with community programs such as blood donation drives, inter-school speech competitions, scholarships for underprivileged and talented students of community schools, and awards for outstanding entrepreneurs. Pokhara Trade Mall & Housing Pvt. Ltd. was officially registered on September 9, 2012, and formally began operations on October 13, 2015.
Managing Director Deepak Kumar Mulmi said the mall has established itself as a leading commercial hub in the Gandaki Province. “Built through the collective investment of entrepreneurs from various parts of Pokhara, it has become a jewel of the province,” he said. “It brings together gold jewelry, clothing, footwear, cosmetics, electronics, and more under one roof, ending the need for customers to shop in scattered locations.”
The mall also features two multiplex cinemas, fine dining restaurants, premium beauty salons and parlors for men and women, three renowned educational consultancies, and a recently opened Korean skincare clinic.
According to businessman Navaraj Tripathi, the mall has won customers’ trust by providing a wide range of goods and services under one roof. It offers ample and secure parking facilities, earthquake-resistant construction, a fire-fighting system, smoke detectors, lounge areas, restrooms, escalators, lifts, and ramps for customer convenience.
Covering a total area of 171,000 square feet—with 78,000 square feet allocated for retail shutters—the mall houses 503 shops across 210 business units. Space ranging from 600 to 1,200 square feet is currently available for entrepreneurs looking to start new businesses.
