Pokhara Metropolitan City and Yungjin University of South Korea Sign Educational Cooperation Agreement

Pokhara, 28 Shrawan – Pokhara Metropolitan City and Yungjin University of the Republic of Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for scholarship exchange in technical education. The agreement was signed by Pokhara Metropolitan Mayor Dhanraj Acharya and Professor Choi Jae Young on behalf of Yungjin University, based on principles of mutual benefit, equality, transparency, and shared development.

According to the agreement, both parties will work to enhance the international competitiveness of Pokhara’s education sector while strengthening academic, cultural, and technical cooperation between Nepal and South Korea. The partnership aims to support international cooperation in education, tourism, and technology through human resource and information exchange, joint educational programs, visits, and virtual learning initiatives. Collaboration will also extend to urban development, tourism, sustainable practices, joint research, and innovation projects.

Mayor Acharya expressed confidence that the bilateral agreement will help Nepali students, particularly from Pokhara, access international scholarships, ensure academic facilitation, and provide social security and minimal employment opportunities in South Korea. He added that Pokhara Metropolitan City will facilitate the necessary processes to make these opportunities accessible for aspiring students.

Professor Choi Jae Young reaffirmed Yungjin University’s readiness to cooperate with Pokhara in advancing education, particularly in technical training, human resource development, and mutual benefit initiatives.
