PM Karki Condemns Simara Incident as 'Unacceptable in Democracy'
Kathmandu. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that the incident in Simara, Bara, is absolutely unacceptable in a democracy.
Through social media, she conveyed that no one has the right to damage public property, obstruct the airport, or take the law into their own hands.
She wrote:
“I want to make it clear that this kind of anarchy is absolutely unacceptable in a democracy. We have taken the anger and political dissatisfaction of the youth seriously.
Respect for freedom of expression is our commitment. But this does not mean the right to damage public property, obstruct the airport, or take the law into your own hands.”
Prime Minister Karki has also directed the home administration and security agencies to work with high restraint and full preparedness to maintain peace and order, ensure the safe movement of leaders from all political parties, and create a fair and fearless environment for the election.
She further stated that the real expectations of the youth can only be fulfilled through the democratic system. "The real expectations of the youth can only be fulfilled through the democratic system.
Therefore, I sincerely appeal to all parties to stay away from undesirable political excitement and to trust in the democratic process," she wrote.
