Planned Incidents, Looted Weapons: Law Minister on 'Gen Z Movement' Fallout

Kathmandu. Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Anil Kumar Sinha, has stated that the incidents that occurred during the 'Gen Z Movement' were pre-planned. Speaking at the National Assembly Business Advisory Committee meeting on Friday, Minister Sinha mentioned that many undesirable incidents took place during the events of Bhadra 23 and 24.

He said, "There are many problems regarding security. Many weapons were looted during the Gen Z Movement, and prisoners escaped from jail. It is natural for the public to feel a little unsafe."

Minister Sinha further informed that even amidst challenging circumstances, accused persons with weapons are being arrested daily. He added, "The security forces have presented a good example of investigation by identifying the escaped prisoners and the individuals involved in the Bhadra 24 incident."

He stated that the incidents that occurred during the Gen Z Movement are currently under extensive investigation.

In the same meeting, Narayan Prasad Dahal, Chairman of the National Assembly, drew attention to the legal complexities and ambiguities observed in the functioning of the National Assembly.

Chairman Dahal said, "Some legal complexities have been observed for the functioning of the National Assembly. Since the Minister himself is the Law Minister and the General Secretary is also aware of such issues, there is an expectation that the government will seriously resolve these inconveniences and ambiguities."

He stressed that the National Assembly could play an important role in resolving the government's difficulties and urged the government to pay serious attention to the necessary infrastructure for conducting the meetings.

He said, "Since the National Assembly is a platform that can play a significant role in facilitating some of the government's difficulties, the government should pay serious attention to the necessary infrastructure required to convene its meetings."
