Rapper Kushal Pokharel’s Song ‘Phone Nagara’ from the Movie ‘Ramitako Pirati’ Released

Popular singer and rapper Kushal Pokharel has prepared a song titled ‘Phone Nagara’ for the Nepali film ‘Ramitako Pirati.’ Directed by Sudipta, the song was first released on Magh 1 during a concert held in Butwal. To promote the film, which is scheduled for release on magh 23, Kushal performed the song live at the concert before the music video was premiered.

The concert featured performances by artists including Kushal, Ana Sharma, Samir Shrestha, Mahesh Kafle, Jemsy, and Hulaki. After Kushal performed the song in front of a crowd of over five thousand spectators, the audience expressed their enthusiasm by chanting "once more."

Kushal Pokharel himself wrote the lyrics and provided the vocals for the newly released track. Designed to cater to modern musical tastes, the music was produced by Charchil Bhusal, with mixing and mastering handled by Kay-Pazz. The music video features Kushal Pokharel and Ana Sharma. Directed, filmed, and edited by Jholayism, the video includes choreography by Jesty. Jenish Maharjan served as the cinematographer, while Rishik Pradhan acted as the creative director.

Kushal Pokharel stated that he decided to collaborate after seeing the dedication of the production team and the activeness of director Sudipta. He mentioned that their "vibe" matched, and after mutual discussions, the lyrics were finalized on the seventh draft. Since it is a breakup story, the song is written from a female perspective following a breakup.

Expressing his enjoyment of working on the music video, Kushal said ‘Phone Nagara’ tells the story of the younger generation's experience after a breakup. He noted that while the idea for the song started nearly a year ago, they eventually reunited to create something powerful despite their busy schedules, and he is now eagerly awaiting audience feedback.

During the concert, Mahesh Kafle performed ‘Junibhar’ and Samir Shrestha performed ‘Timi Bhaye Kaafi,’ with Ana Sharma joining as a performer. According to producer Sagar Lamsal, concerts will also be organized in Biratnagar, Birtamod, Dharan, Pokhara, Dhangadhi, and Kathmandu, featuring singers associated with the film.

Scheduled for release on Magh 23, the film ‘Ramitako Pirati’ centers around the character Ramita, played by Ana Sharma. Director Sudipta believes the film, based on a breakup story, will offer a unique experience for the audience. This film also marks the acting debut of singer Samir Shrestha. Alongside Ana Sharma and Samir Shrestha, the film stars Dhiraj Magar, Binay Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, Pashupati Rai, Renu Yogit, Giyana, Thinley Lamo, and others.

Additionally, a segment of the song ‘Timi Bhaye Kaafi’ featuring the lyrics ‘Aune Salai Ma Lagangatho, Saait Jurai’ has recently gone viral on TikTok. Millions of videos have been created using this song, garnering significant views. 

The "Adds Your Color" trend associated with the song has become particularly popular among the youth, where users create videos about someone who fills the void in their lives with color. The song, featuring Samir Shrestha’s vocals and Shashwot’s music, is being widely used across reels, TikTok, and social media stories.

Described as a "breakup story," ‘Ramitako Pirati’ presents the emotional journey of characters after a relationship ends. Ana Sharma is also involved in the production side of the film, serving as an executive producer in addition to her acting role. Santosh Lamsal is the executive producer, with R.P. Production as associate producer, director Subash Koirala as co-producer, and Sagar Lamsal as the producer.

The film features music by Sushant KC, Samir Shrestha, Mahesh Kafle, Asmita Adhikari, and Kushal Pokharel. Shishir Bishankhe is the DOP, Sunil Siwakoti is the editor, Kapil Parajuli handled the coloring, and Kritika Baral is the choreographer. Rich Entertainment and Apple Entertainment will distribute the film in the Kathmandu Valley, while FD Company will distribute it outside the valley.
