Rajbiraj – Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP-N) Upendra Yadav has said that growing public frustration and anger towards the current government’s corrupt behavior has increased the risk of people launching a revolt at any time.
Addressing the oath-taking and handover ceremony of the newly elected district committee of JSP-N Saptari on Wednesday, he said that the people, distressed by the government’s corrupt and discriminatory character, are looking for an alternative to this administration.
Accusing the government of reaching the peak of corruption, misgovernance, and discrimination, Chairman Yadav stated, “The current government is trying to establish a single-ethnic dominance and turn into a dictatorship. The people are deeply frustrated and angry with the government, so a revolt could happen at any time.”
He further accused that Nepal has landed on the list of the most underdeveloped and backward countries and among nations dependent on foreign loans, saying the country is heading downhill. Emphasizing that representation and budget allocation should be based on population in a democracy, he pointed out that only six members in the National Assembly represent Madhesh. He added, “As part of a strategy, Madhesh has been fragmented into pieces, even though the Constitution mentions autonomous Madhesh.”
Stating that struggle is necessary for change, Chairman Yadav directed party leaders and workers to focus on building, strengthening, and consolidating the party and to work for social justice and rights. Stressing the need to organize the party to fight for development, equality, and rights, he said, “It is necessary to hold gatherings and meetings in wards, neighborhoods, and settlements to raise awareness.”
In the program, Madhesh Province Assembly member Anirudra Prasad Yadav expressed outrage over the police killing of promising youth Lalu Yadav in Rajgad Rural Municipality without any fault of his, demanding strong action against the guilty police personnel.
Also speaking at the event were central members Bikash Tiwari, Shailendra Mohan Jha, Amarnath Mandal, Geeta Yadav, acting mayor of Rajbiraj Municipality Isarat Parbin, central disciplinary committee member Kailash Yadav, advisory committee member Shyamdev Yadav, provincial members Yusuf Ali and Kishor Kumar Yadav, and election committee coordinator Krishna Prasad Yadav.
On the occasion, newly elected JSP-N Saptari chairman Kedar Yadav pledged to leave no stone unturned in building and strengthening the party. Retired engineer Yogendra Prasad Yadav also joined JSP-N at the program.
