Filming of ‘Pension Patta’ Wraps Up in 33 Days
The entire filming of the movie ‘Pension Patta’, directed by character actor Maotse Gurung, has been completed. The film’s wrap was announced on Tuesday at a resort in Kaski after 33 days of shooting. Director Gurung shared the news of the completion while expressing his gratitude to all the assisting technicians who worked day and night through various difficulties during the shoot.
The release date for the film has not yet been announced. "Post-production work will begin in a few days. We will announce the release date based on how long that takes," Director Gurung stated. "We want to show the audience a beautiful film. We will see how much time it takes to work without any compromises."
The film, which also features investment from Maotse Gurung—often known as the 'Godfather' of Gurung cinema—stars Dayahang Rai, Sunil Thapa, Pashupati Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Raj Thapa Kaucha, Lunibha Tuladhar, Bishwas Gurung, Maya Gurung, and Yasili Rai, among others.
Although the title might suggest a story about a former soldier (Lahure), director and producer Gurung explains that it depicts how a greedy boy transforms into a generous person. The story of the film, produced under the banner of Maotse Gurung Films, was also written by the director himself.
The film is invested in by Min Konme Gurung (Sikles), Bhoj Bahadur Gurung (UK), and Sapana Gurung, with DB Gurung serving as the production manager. The cinematography is handled by Sushan Prajapati, Suraj Tamu is the casting director, and the music is being prepared by Jhuma Limbu, Manoj Thapa Magar, and Shiva Baraili.
Director Maotse Gurung’s debut directorial venture, ‘Dayarani’, was a box office hit. While he is a top choice as a character actor, he has recently become more active in writing and directing. He previously directed films in the Gurung language. In addition to being an actor and director, Maotse is also a producer.
The film will be distributed nationwide by Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha’s RR Films.
