President Paudel Returning Home Following Official Visit to Japan
Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel is returning home today from Narita International Airport in Tokyo after completing a four-day official visit to Japan.
At the invitation of the Japanese government, President Paudel, accompanied by First Lady Sabita Paudel and a Nepali delegation, traveled to Japan on Monday to participate in a special ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan.
During the visit, President Paudel attended and addressed a special grand reception organized by the Japanese government in Tokyo to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic ties.
Additionally, President Paudel held a state courtesy meeting with Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. He also held courtesy meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Ms. Sanae Takaichi and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Iwao Horii.
Throughout the trip, President Paudel addressed representatives of the Japanese business community as well as the Nepali community residing in Japan, and he also visited the Embassy of Nepal in Japan.
Diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan were established on September 1, 1956. Following the establishment of ties, Nepal opened its embassy in Tokyo in 1965, and Japan established its embassy in Kathmandu in 1967. President Paudel had departed from Nepal for Japan on Sunday night for this official visit.
